Events

I am an experienced and passionate organiser of design events, some of which are included below.

Service Lab London

I co-organise Service Lab London with Rupert Tebb. Service Lab is a space for practitioners to share their experiences, inspire each other and learn new things. We run monthly events in London and publish an international podcast.

Our community is an eclectic mix of established and new talent, researchers, designers, UXers, developers, behavioural scientists… What unites us is a fascination with the creation of services that work.

We’ve heard from speakers with experience at organisations like GDS, The Guardian, The Times, Citizens Advice Bureau, Seren, IBM and Public Health England, on topics that range from empathy in design to data, VR to cultural change.

London Circular Jam

From 2013-2015 I was one of the organisers of the London Circular Jam, an event designed to demonstrate the latest thinking on the circular economy. The event was held as part of the Global Sustainability Jam, a worldwide 48 hour challenge where people with diverse backgrounds come together to develop ideas for social and environmental good. My role was to recruit and manage a team of industry-leading mentors to inspire and guide participants throughout the event.

Public Design Festival

In 2010 I worked with esterni to develop and run their annual Public Design Festival; a week of events, installations, services and interventions held during Milan Design Week and staged in Milan’s public space to encourage citizens and travellers to actively participate in their surroundings. esterni is a not-for-profit association based in Milan, made up of designers and professionals whose aim is to develop cultural projects, communication campaigns and interventions that improve the quality of urban life and envision the city of the future.
